Flowers For Spring!

Have I mentioned Spring is my favorite season? One of my favorite things about Spring--actually, about life--is flowers. I love flowers!

I much prefer natural flowers, especially the ones with scent. I don't like hot-house roses, that have been bred for looks rather than scent. Give me an imperfect rose with that heady rose scent over a 'perfect' rose any day!

My favorite flowers are roses, because Rose is my middle name, and because roses are beautiful. Did you know there are different rose scents? There are people who think there is only one rose scent, that powdery, overwhelming scent our grandmothers wore--wrong! There are many rose scents, from deep to fruity to spicy to light. My favorite is the light, almost fruity scent of wild roses.

I also love tuberose, because of their gorgeous, heady scent--tuberose is one of my favorite scents! Closely followed by lilies, especially Easter and Casablanca lilies. And lily of the valley, which happens to be the flower of May, by birth month.

Here are some stunning examples of one of my favorite things about Spring. Enjoy!

This one is interesting because it is a silk rose that has been dipped in rose-scented wax! So it smells and looks like the real thing!

And here are some of my own flower offerings :)

Spring Is Here!

Spring is finally here! Living in Southern California, spring has been here for a while. Of course, in other states, you would think it was still mid-winter. But whatever your weather, today is the first day of spring! Spring is my favorite season. Not cold or rainy here, not sweltering, just right. And all the colors!

In honor of my favorite season, everything in my shop has been marked down 20%! No coupons needed, prices have already been reduced. I don't know how long this sale will last, so better hurry.

Here are some Spring pieces to tempt you :) No need to leave, you can buy them straight from this page! Or you can go to my shop

PS~ I'd appreciate it if you'd check out the polls to the right. Thanks :) If you choose other, I'd love it if you could leave a note letting me know specifics. You can leave an anonymous comment. But no worries if you don't want to. Thanks!!

Just a friendly update to let you know what is going on. You may have noticed that I haven't been adding many new pieces lately. Part of that is that I haven't been doing great physically, but things seem to be looking up, so I do have some pieces waiting to be listed that I hope to get around to by the weekend. The other part is that I have been working on some other things.

I have been working more with silk florals lately. I have completed a set of two bobby pins with purple orchids and a hair tie adorned with a purple orchid. This is a new orchid, not the previous orchids I have used, these are larger. I am not sure if I will offer all three pieces as a set, or have one listing for the set of bobby pins and sell the hair tie separately. Have a preference? I'd love to hear it. I also have white orchids with purple details, also in a set of two bobby pins and a hair tie. The choice of the color purple is not exactly mine, it is what was available and what was pretty. I will admit that I do purchase items in my favorite colors--red, pink, and black--more often than other colors, I rely more on beauty than color. If I see something pretty in a color I dislike, I will buy it, because I do not make most of my pieces for myself. Do I love the pieces I make? Of course! Would I wear most of them? Actually, no, I wouldn't. I know that doesn't quite add up and I can't explain it, but that's how I work.

I also started a bracelet with the purple orchids and a separate bracelet with the white orchids, both bracelets are stretch bracelets, the flowers attached to elastic. So it will fit just about everyone. I have completed a bracelet with white daisies, I have embellished the daisies with gold glitter. I am working on daisy bobby pins and a hair tie, as well as another bracelet, this on a length of sheer white organza ribbon, with a single perfect daisy. It is very feminine and daisies have always screamed Spring to me. I also have a set of bobby pins and a hair tie with a yellow orchid. Again, orchids aren't exactly a favorite flower of mine, but they are beautiful, and I enjoy working with beautiful things.

I just finished a three strand necklace made of various pink beads, including Swarovski, glass, gemstones and shells. I am working on a pair of earrings to match, however, these earrings are special--they will not match each other! I am very close to finishing a project I have had a lot of fun with: a woodland crown. It is a small grapevine wreath interwoven with strands of green beads to form vines. It is decorated with flower beads in all shades and glass leaves. There are also acrylic flowers and silk florals decorating the crown, and green and clear beads for sparkle. I am also nearly finished with my first Intention Jewelry piece, and this first will represent love. It is made with rose quartz and pink aventurine, both gemstones are known to attract love in many forms, romantic and friendly love.

My next projects will include a few Spring themed crowns in pinks and bright Spring greens. I am hoping to introduce floral brooches very soon. I am working on more rose hair clips. And have begun working on beaded toe rings. I hope to offer many different colors, if you have a favorite, let me know!

That is what is happening for now, if any new and exciting projects pop up, I will be sure to share them here! As always, thank you for reading and supporting Moonlight Eternal!

Things I Want

If you could see my wish list, you would be amazed. Or perhaps appalled. Of course, it's not possible for you to see my entire wish list--it would be pages and pages and pages long, so I've never actually committed it to paper. Or even an online wish list service. I use the time it would take to document all the things I love instead to finding new things to love and want. You should browse Artfire some day--I guarantee you'll have to start your own wish list after a few minutes!

This is Chai Tea shower gel. I love the scent of chai tea. It's so warm and soothing and delicious. The perfect winter scent. Martinsville Emporium offers a selection of bath and body products, including soap, shower gel, lip balm and body frosting. Her prices are amazing and her shipping charges are well within the realm of reasonability. And the shower gel even does double duty as a bubble bath! I don't know about anyone else, but I always feel more justified in buying a product that does more than one thing. It gives the idea that I will get more use out of it and get my money's worth. It doesn't matter if I never use the product for its second purpose--the idea that I can use it that way, should I choose, is justification enough.

Now this is just magnificent! Mayvar has created an amazingly detailed Mermaid Sea-Cliff resort. Please, just take a minute to truly marvel at this. The detail is incredible. The sea shells are real. The arch is made with Swarovski crystals! All of the figures are included and are movable: three mermaids, hermit crabs, three octopi, an eel, and a starfish; even extra empty clamshell chairs. Click the above picture to see more views, the entire thing is decorated, including the back!! This is all hand made and I can not even begin to imagine how long it took to make this masterpiece.

And here is another beauty from the same artist. This is a magical fairy house. This piece displays yet again her talent and eye for details. Look at all the mosaic work for the path and walls. There is mother of pearl above the doorway. These are small pieces and it takes painstaking work to perfect mosaics on such a small level. Notice all the flowers and greenery. Even the back is detailed.

This is a hair fork from Mairzydozy . I love this depiction of the full moon. The moon is special to me and I love moon symbolism (perhaps you've noticed it in my shop name?) and the full moon is a gorgeous symbol. I have always been particularly drawn to the image of a dead, branchy tree silhouetted by the full moon. The metal is aluminum, which is lightweight. The stone is coral. The design is simple, and therein lies its beauty.

This is pretty and useful. This is from A Stroke of Jeanneius, who also has a lot of other pretty products. This would be so perfect for a Spring party, especially outdoors. The only 'negative' thing I can see is that the bottle is not included!!

Another from A Stroke of Jeanneius. I love damask anything, so it's no surprise I like this, too! It's a steal at $4. You could use it for a candle, but you can also use it to store odds and ends like paperclips or binder clips, or for pens and pencils, even for crochet or knitting needles to have them close by.

The above wooden figures, of a wolf and unicorn, are actually being sold as toys. However, I like wolves and unicorns and almost anything to do with them, including wooden figures. They don't scream TOY, which I like, but which is also practical; your child can keep his 'toy' for years, as he goes from child to young adult, the figures go from toys to figurines to display pieces.

As always, thank you for reading! I am hoping to update this blog a lot more frequently so be sure to check back often!
